PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) was established in October 1995, under the frame work of Law No.1/1967 and Law No.11/1970 on foreign investment. It is the Indonesia’s first world scale stand-alone aromatic plant. TPPI’s new facility with a capacity to process up to 100,000 barrels of condensate per day has the capability of producing high value aromatics, light naphtha as well as mid-distillate products. BOB PT Bumi Siak Pusako – Pertamina Hulu is a joint venture between local Siak administration-owned unit PT Bumi Siak Pusako (BSP) and PT Pertamina. The BOB operates Coastal Plain Pekanbaru PSC following the relinquishment of the block from PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (Chevron) to the government. Transfer of the operation was started on 9 August 2002. Work authority for the BOB covers the area of 9.996 km2 divided in three production areas. BP Has operated in Indonesia for over 35 years in Indonesia. The company is one of the largest foreign investors in the country, with a cumulative capital investment to date of over US$5 billion. It supports state-owned electricity company PLN and state gas company PGN for customers in the capital of Jakarta and neighboring areas. The West Java fields have been operating since 1971 and today produce 27,000 barrels of oil a day as well as 320 million cubic feet of gas. The company has a joint venture with ENI, called VICO Indonesia, which operates the Sanga-Sanga development in East Kalimantan. Sanga-Sanga delivers gas to the Bontang LNG plant, which is one of the world’s largest. In 1968 Chevron Indonesia Company (CICo) (formerly known as Unocal Indonesia Company) signed its first production sharing contract (PSC) with Pertamina, the state oil and gas company, offshore northwest Sumatra. After drilling a few exploration wells and finding only an uneconomic gas reserve, CICo decided to return the block to Pertamina. In the same year, CICo also signed the second PSC with Pertamina, and began exploration for oil and natural gas in offshore East Kalimantan. Two years later, CICo discovered Indonesia’s largest offshore oil and gas field, the Attaka field. From 1973 to1995, CICo discovered the Sepinggan, Yakin, Malahin, Kerindingan, Serang and Santan fields. In 1996, CICo drilled the first deepwater well offshore East Kalimantan using is Saturation Exploration (SX) technology. The following year, Unocal announced the discovery of potentially significant new fields on the Merah Besar and West Seno prospects, located on Makassar Strait PSC area. The company received approvals from Pertamina to begin initial development activities of the fields in September 1999. CICo started commercial gas operations in Indonesia in 1973 with the completion of the Santan Terminal, which processes gas at the liquids extraction plant. Dry gas is transported via pipeline to a fertilizer plant and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant both located in Bontang. LNG from Bontang is sold to buyers in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and the extracted liquefied petroleum gas is exported to Japan. Oil from the northern field is also processed at Santan. Oil and gas from the southern field are sent to the Lawe-Lawe Terminal. In 2006, CICo executed a farm-out agreement relinquishing five PSCs (Muara Bakau, Popodi, Papalang, Bukat and Ambalat) in Makassar straits in exchange for a 40 percent nonoperated working interest in the NE Madura III Block. In early 2007, the company submitted preliminary plans of developmrnt to the government of Indonesia for the Bangka, Gendalo Hub and Gehem Hub deepwater natural gas projects, located in the Kutei Basin. These projects will likely be developed in parallel, with first production for all projects targeted for 2013. The development concept for the 50 percent-owned and operated Sadewa project, located in the East Kalimantan PSC, Kutei Basin, is under evaluation and is sxpected to be completed in late 2007. Assuming the evaluation is positive, initial proved reserves recognition would be expected to occur in 2008, with first production expected in 2010.

Chevron, trough its subsidiary PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI), has interests in and operates in four PSC areas in Sumatra. The company also holds nonopeated working interests in Suoth Natuna Sea Block B and a 40 percent working interests in the North East Madura III block in the East Java Sea Basin. Chevron’s origins inside Indonesia go back almost 83 years, when Standard Oil of California (SOCAL) first initiated geology field work on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan in 1924. Exploration from Chevron discovered two giant oil field in Central Sumatra during the early 1940’s: during field in 1941, followed by Minas field in 1944. First production from the area started in 1952, with peak production reaching nearly 1 million BOPD in the early 1970’s. The Duri steamflood project, initiated during the 1980’s, rejuvenated production from additional heavy oil reserves, and is the largest steamflood operation in the world. CPI produces nearly half of Indonesia’s crude oil production, achieving in 2006 a total average daily production of 540,000 barrels of liquids. The majority of CPI’s production in 2006 came from fields under primary or secondary recovery, including both water flood and steam flood.

Under the Production Sharing Contract, the contractor (collectively the participants other than BPMIGAS namely CITIC Seram, KUFPEC, GPI and Lion) has been granted a 100 percent rights to explore, develop and produce oil from the Seram Non-Bula Bock for a period of 20 years until 2019. The Offshore Southeast Sumatra Production Sharing Contract (SES PSC), operated by CNOOC SES Ltd.,is one of the pioneers of offshore Production Sharing Contracts in Indonesia. The Southeast Sumatra Production Sharing Contract was signed on September 6, 1968, and commencing September 6, 1998 the PSC was extended for an additional 20 years. The SES PSC is one of the largest offshore producers of crude oil in Indonesia and has made significant contribution to the nation’s economic development for the past 38 years with a total output of more than one billion barrels of oil. CNOOC SES Ltd. remains dedicated to continuing the search for and development of oil and natural gas reserves in this block in the up coming years. Operation Highlights Operation Activity After a number of relinquishments, the PSC area now covers 8281.9sq.kilometers from which CNOOC SES Ltd. currently produces approximately 50,000 BOPD and 80 MMSCFD of gas that delivered to PT. PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) as a fuel gas for power generation plant in Cilegon.AIISESPSC facilities are situated offshore Java Sea, northeast of the Sunda Strait between Java and the southernmost corner of Sumatra. Currently CNOOC SES Ltd. operates 33 producing fields, 85 active offshore facilities, and the crude oil is produced with Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) from 488 wells, processed on 6 platforms and transported by a subsea pipeline system to two floating storage facilities. Exploration & Production Since the SES PSC was first signed in 1968, 498 exploratory and delineation wells have been drilled and about 80,000 km of 2D and 3900 square km of 3D seismic data were acquired. The results have been significant to Indonesia’s economy with a booked proven oil reserve exceeding 1.4 billion barrels. SES PSC Contract area consists of two hydrocarbon generative basins; Sunda Basin in the southern part, and Asri Basin in the northern part. Approximately 55% of present production from the block comes from the Widuri, Intan, Indri, and other smaller fields in the Asri Basin, North area. Pabelokan Island The most significant offshore facility of the SES PSC is the 27-arce Pabelokan Island as the operation nucleus of the SES contract area and is extremely effective as material staging base and a technical training center and accommodation area for employees and contractors. Pabelokan provides extensive space for power generation as well as a central location to repair and maintain production equipment. Pabelokan Island also accommodates the SES gas processing facilities.

Over the past four decades, ConocoPhillips Indonesia (COPI) has risen to become one of the country’s leading partners in the development of Indonesia’s vast oil and gas resources, contributing to and maximizing vital energy resources. The company’s onshore development projects and gas operations are focused in South Sumatra, mainly in the Corridor Block PSC, in which the company has a 54 percent interest and which is located to the northwest of Palembang, South Sumatra. The South Jambi B PSC, in which the company has a 45 percent interest, is located to the west of Jambi. Continental-GeoPetro (Bengara-II) Ltd owns 100% of the underlying rights to explore for and produce oil and natural gas within the contract area designated as the Bengara II Block, which rights have been granted under a production sharing contract date December 4, 1997 with Pertamina. Until recently, Dallas-based Continental Energy Corporation owned 60% of C-G Bengara and San Francisco-based GeoPetro Resources Company owned the remaining 40% and, through it, the rights to the Bengara II PSC. On September 29, 2006, Continental and GeoPetro executed a devinitive agreement to sell 70% of their interest in C-G Bengara to CNPCHK (Indonesia) Limited, a subsidiary of CNPC (Hong Kong) Ltd. GeoPetro have retained a 12% stake in C-G Bengara and the Bengara II PSC. Continental has likewise sold its interest and retained an 18% interst in C-G Bengara and the Bengara II PSC. According to farmout agreement, CNPC (Hong Kong) injected US$18.7 million into C-G Bengara as Shareholder loans for the exploration wells during the exploration period (the exploration expenses required for sales and purchases project. CNPC (Hong Kong) planned to complete the drilling work of four exploration wells during the exploration period (the exploration period will be ended on December 4, 2007) so as to confirm the oil reserve. Drilling commenced in April 2007 on the Seberaba #1 well, the first of four exploration wells planned for 2007. CNPC (Hong Kong) is a publicly held company based in Hong Kong and its shares trade on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company is a 52% owned subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Company, one of the two largest state-owned petroleum corporations in the PRC.

Around 80 percent of the company’s gas reserves come from its Kangean asset which was acquired from BP in August 2004. In December 2005, ENRG obtained the approval from shareholders to acquire PT Tunas Harapan Perkasa (THP). The new acquisition added some 90 MMBOE of 2P reserves and 87 MMBOE of contingent resources to ENRG. Critically, ENRG’s acquisition strategy provides the company with an opportunity to apply its extensive reservoir management, gas commercialization, and production optimization skills in the Indonesian market. In May 2007, ENRG fermed out 50 percent of its Kangean PSC to JAPEX and Mitsubishi for cash proceed of US$360 million. The 263 percent price increase definitely added value to its shareholders. ENRG used the cash proceed to de-leverage its balance sheet while maintaining 50 percent stake in the Kangean PSC (as a single majority owner). Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang) Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of publicly listed integrated gas producing power generating company Energy World Corporation Ltd (EWC). Eni was among the first international companies to enter into Indonesian production sharing agreement for hydrocarbon exploration and production. In 1968 the company signed a contract with Pertamina for the exploration of the Teluk Berau and Arafura Sea Blocks in Eastern Indonesia. Berau was a discovery, and production started in 1978. In 1980 North Sakala Block was also explored, but when in 1984 Teluk Berau Field was depleted and the exploration rights in the other blocks had expired, Eni terminated activities in Indonesia. In 2001 Eni returned to Indonesia in exploration and production activities through the acquisition of Lasmo plc. Eni, through its subsidiary Lasmo Sanga-Sanga Ltd,owns a 37.8 percent participating interest in Sanga-Sanga PSC, and controls 50 percent of Vico Indonesia. Vico is the operating company for Sanga-Sanga PSC located in the onshore area of the Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan. Sanga-Sanga PSC is one of Indonesia’s largest suppliers of natural gas for the country’s LNG export business. Vico is a major asset for Eni and currently produces around 1 BCFD of gas and 30,000 BPD of oil and condensates. Eni holds interest in 11 exploration blocks, 6 as operator with interests ranging from 20 percent to 100 percent. An exploration campaign is underway in the Tarakan basin offshore Borneo. In May 2007, Eni successfully completed drilling of the Tulip 1 explorative well (Eni’s interest 100 percent), located in water depths of up to 800 meters Norheast of Kalimantan Island. This well revealed the presence of significant oil and gas deposits. In the same area, Eni (operator with a 66.25 percent interest) and a partner have also successfully completed an appraisal test of the Aster field, previously discovered by the two companies. The test has shown oil flowing at a maximum rate of over 5,000 BPD. Eni plans to submit a development plan for the Aster field and start appraising the Tulip discovery. Eni will also assess potential synergies that might support a joint development of the two dicoveries

The ten percent will be provided equally by both parties. In addition to these two projects, ExxonMobil is operator of Natuna D Alpha Field and with Pertamina is working to satisfy conditions necessary to proceed with development. With over 220 trillion cubic feet of gas in place (46 trillion cubic feet of hydrocarbon gas) this field is one of the largest gas accumulations in South East Asia. The gas within the Natuna D Alpha field is made up of 72 percent CO2 and 28 percent hydrocarbons, which presents a unique challenge to producing the 46 trillion cubic feet of hydrocarbon gas and accounting for the large amounts of non-combustible gases. ExxonMobil is uniquely qualified to develop this large natural resource as it can utilize the most recent and innovative technologies and can readily fund the anticipated huge capital investments required.

As an operator with a 100 percent working interest, INPEX has been successful in exploration activities in the Masela block and made promising discoveries of natural gas and condensate in the Abadi field. INPEX is devoting itself to development studies for future commercialization in Masela block by producing LNG. In April 2006, INPEX Holding Inc. was established as the result of the business integration between INPEX and Teikoku oil Co Ltd. The merger is to take place to from an operating holding company as the final stage of the integration, scheduled to be completed in October 2008.

Kondur Petroleum S.A. was established on 17 December 1967 by U.S. firm Ingram and its American partners. Kondur Petroleum S.A. is registered under and subject to the Laws of the Republic of Panama. The partnership with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia began on August 5, 1970 where Pertamina, as representative of the Government of Indonesia, and Kondur petroleum S.A. entered into the Malacca strait Production Sharing Contract located in the Riau Province. During its early phase in the Malacca strait PSC in the 1970’s, most of Kondur’s working interests were transferred to several international oil companies and so its privilege of operatorship, choosing to retain only 5% of the Malacca Strait working interests. After this took place, a succession of foreign oil companies including ARCO became operators. The last being Hudbay Oil (Malacca Strait) Ltd, which took over in 1978. The operations in the PSC continued with technical assistance provided among others by British Petroleum. In 1991, the Operator’s name was changed to LASMO Oil (Malacca Strait) Ltd. In mid 1995, RHI, Resources Holding Incorporation, the principal company of Kondur Petroleum S.A. was acquired by Far Eastern Hydrocarbons Ltd., a Company under Indonesian ownership. When LASMO Oil sold all their working interests in the Malacca strait PSC in the same year, Kondur Petroleum S.A. as one of the Partners in the PSC Joint Venture, used its preemptive right to take over all of the LASMO working interests. On 11 September 1995, Kondur Petroleum S.A. was unanimously chosen by the Partners in the Joint Venture to be the “Operator” succeeding LASMO. The acquisition process and the change of operatorship ened on 12 October 1995 and that date is also inaugurated as the historical date for Kondur. The Malacca Strait PSC has been on production since 1984. In 2003 and 2004, PT Energi Mega Persada acquired RHI Corp (RHI) and PT Imbang Tata Alam (ITA), respectively. Kondur and ITA together hold a 60.49% working interest in the Malacca Strait PSC.

In 2001, Pexco’s subsidiary companies, Zodan N.V. and Zudavi N.V., werw awarded Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for the deepwater Popodi and Papalang blocks in the Makassar Straits, Indonesia. These PSCs are located on the eastern margin of the prolific Kutei Basin where in excess of 11 billion barrels of oil equivalent has already been discovered. Subsequent to the award, operatorship of these PSCs were farmed out with Zodan and Zudavi retaining a 31 percent interest. Another subsidiary, Tately N.V., was awarded 100 percent equity and operatorship of the Palmerah PSC, onshore South Sumatra Basin, Indonesia in December 2003. The block is located in the centre of a prolific hydrocarbon bearing basin supplying gas to South East Asia. Two gas discoveries have been made on the block and several exploration prospects have been identified. Acquisition of 2D seismic was completed in 2005 with a two well drilling and well testing program conducted 2007. In October 2005, a PSC was awarded to subsidiary company Zaratex N.V. (100%) for the lhokseumawe Block. The block is located both onshore and offshore within the prolific North Sumatra Basin near to the Arun LNG plant. Acquisition of 3D seismic, CSEM and drilling is planned within the first three years.

Premier Oil began operation in Indonesia in 1996 following the acquisition of Sumatra Gulf Oil Ltd, which gave it a majority interest at that time in the Natuna Sea Block A Production Sharing Contract (PSC) offshore West Kalimantan, comprising the Anoa oil field and substantial gas reserves, as well as exploration prospects. In May 2001, the Premier operated Anoa gas export project was completed and is currently exporting 175 bbtud to Singapore via the 650 km West Natuna Transportation System. This pipeline was completed and commissioned in December 2000, with early gas production from the Anoa platform commencing in January 2001 - gas volume into Singapore from the whole of the West Natuna Gas system including Premier’s Anoa field has reached the contracted level of 325 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). In 2001, Premier Oil discovered the Gajah Baru gas field in Natuna Block A and has subsequently discovered further hydrocarbons in the Block, which remains to be commercialized. In April 2006, Premier Oil together with Medco and Japex acquired interests in North Sumatra Block A PSC in Aceh. The field contains several known gas discoveries and discussions continue to commercialize the gas. In December 2006 Premier oil together with Japex and Kufpec were awarded PSC on Buton Island, Sulawesi. Premier holds a 30 percent non-operated equity interest. The block covers 3,396 km2 and lies on the southeastern side of Buton Island. The block has potential large prospects for future drilling.

The well is intended to test hydrocarbons potential of Baturaja carbonates and Talang Akbar sandstones as the primary objective. Ranhill is actively pursuing exploration work in Citarum block by conducting 2D seismic acquisition this year. The new 2D seismic data is expected to be completed in mind 2008 and will be used as the basis of G&G evaluation to identify exploration potential within the block.

Since 2000 Santos has continued to build its businesses in Southeast Asia and Australia, while undertaking a high impact exploration program and developing new projects to drive production and earnings growth. Santos is positioning itself to perform Alongside the top quartile of the world’s oil and gas companies – rapidly expanding its exploration interests and delivering production growth through an exiting suite of development projects. Significant development projects contributing to Santos’ growth include the Bayu-Undan Liquids and LNG projects in the Australia Timor-Leste Joint Petroleum Development Area, the Mutineer-Exeter oil fields and John Brookes gas field development in Western Australia, the Oyong oil and gas field and Maleo gas field offshore East java, and the Casino gas development offshore Victoria. In Indonesia, Santos’ primary commercial focus is on developing their assets an the East Java area such as the Oyong and Maleo and also growing the business in other areas such as in East Kalimantan and North Bali. Santos’ first offshore operated gas field outside Australia, the Maleo gas project located off the East Java coast in Indonesia, came on-stream in September 2006 and achieved its contracted production level of approximately 80TJ/day. The Oyong oil and gas project, also offshore East Java, is now operational and has been producing its first oil production since September 2007. The second phase of the Oyong project, which will supply gas to electricity generations in Grati, East Java via a new pipeline, is expected to come on-stream in 2009. Santos in Indonesia is currently in a stage of rapid growth.

Star Energy (SE) is a local company which was established in 2003. At present, Star Energy is the operator for Kakap Production Sharing Contract. (PSC) Block in the Natuna Sea, producing oil and gas. It operates the Sebatik and Sekayu PCS’S, Which are currently in the exploration phase. It also holds a 50% interest in the Banyumas PSC, central Java. Star Energy owns 100% of Magma Nusantara Limited, the operator of the Wayang Windu geothermal power plant. The Kakap PSC contains nine oil and gas fields which are operated from four Platforms with daily production in 2006 around 7500 BOPD and 58 MMSCGFD. All the oil is piped to the KN Floating Production, Storage and offloading unit (FPSO) for processing and storage until it is transferred to tankers for Export. Sales gas produced in Kakap is currently coming from the KH, KRA, Jangkar and south KRA fields. It is processed at the KF platform before being shipped via the undersea pipeline of the West Natuna Transportation System (WNTS) to Singapore. Wayang Windu power plant has one of the biggest single geothermal turbines in the world and is currently producing 110 Megawatts of electricity, which is delivered into the national grid through PLN. Development of an additional 110 Megawatts of electricity generation capacity is underway, with start up planned for early 2009. Exploration seismic and drilling are planned for Sekayu and Sebatik, respectively in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2008.

TOTAL E&P INDONESIE, a 100% Indonesian subsidiary of the Paris based TOTAL Group, was incorporated in Jakarta on 14 August 1968. Since then, it has been working in partnership with the Indonesian Government, as a Production Sharing Contraction in the search for, and development of, Indonesia,,s vast hydrocarbon reserves. In its initial stages, TOTAL E&P INDONESIE was active in producing oil from its Bekapai and Handil fields, located at the Mahakam River Delta, East Kalimantan. However a major shift occurred in the early 90,,s, with the development of newly found gas reserves at Tanbora, Tunu and Peciko which raised the Company to the largest gas producer in Indonesia in 2000. Tambora is an onshore gas field, sited in the central part of the Mahakam River Delta discovered in 1974. Tunu field, a gigantic gas field which is located at the Mahakam River Delta, discovered in 1977 and started production in 1990. Peciko field, discovered in 1983, is located offshore about 60 km northeast of the city of Balikpapan. Production started in December 1999, supplying gas to Train H in Bontang. The latest development and expansion of TOTAL E&P INDONESIE IS Sisi & Nubi Fields, two Offshore gas fields which were discovered in 1986, located 25 km offshore from the Mahakam Delta and 30 km to the southeast of the Tunu Field. Initial production started in December 2007. TOTAL E&P INDONESIE as the largest gas producer in Indonesia, is supplying approximately 80% of the Bontang LNG plant requirements. Current hydrocarbon output from the Mahakam Block stands at an average of more than 572 MBOEPD of hydrocarbon including around 2600 MMSCFD or MBOEPD of natural gas. Celebrating 40 years of active development in Indonesia, TOTAL E&P INDONESIE maintains its strong commitment to a development which is of sustainable nature. Implementation of sustainable development projects by TOTAL E&P INDONESIE ranges from environmental protection of the precarious Mahakam Delta to community development activities. For this serious commitment, TOTAL E&P INDONESIE received an award for social empowerment of local communities from the Coordinating Minister for People,,s Welfare in 2007.
